About Us

Our Mission

  • Increase the number of children in London participating in cricket
  • Increase the amount of children from disadvantaged and ethnic minority backgrounds participating in cricket
  • Support personal and social development through cricket

What do we do?

  • Deliver in-school coaching programmes
  • Run competitive inter-school festivals
  • Establish a "pop up" cricket club that allows access to community cricket for children in areas with little to no existing provision

Inner London Boroughs

Where do we do it?

  • Our work is predominantly focused on inner London
  • We identify wards with over 25% child poverty, over 50% ethnic minority populations and little to no cricket provision
  • We establish hubs across 2-3 wards that usually include 6-12 Primary Schools

What have we achieved so far?

  • 411 schools engaged (17 Boroughs)
  • 21,718 children engaged (16,521 new to cricket)
  • 38% of participants from disadvantaged background
  • 77% of participants from ethnic minority backgrounds
  • 1,352 children participating in community cricket through 58 “pop up” cricket clubs
  • 527 (39%) of community participants are female

Why Cricket?

We believe cricket can play an important role in the contemporary, often complicated, lifestyles of young people in urban areas. The game has a traditional cross-cultural appeal, it is played at a pace that allows for greater socialisation than most sports, and there are roles that suit a complete cross-section of body-types.

Our programmes are mapped against our "Hit for Six" Framework, where we aim to instill and encourage the following skills and attributes:

1. RESPECT & SPORTSMANSHIP

2. BRAVERY & DETERMINATION

3. CONCENTRATION & PATIENCE

4. RESILIENCE & PERSPECTIVE

5. ANALYSIS & JUDGEMENT

6. COOPERATION & COORDINATION

    PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Each week our coaches identify a PLAYER OF THE WEEK from the 4,000+ children we work with, as a recognition of their talent, efforts or improvement.

This week's PLAYER OF THE WEEK Award goes to Ali from King Solomon Academy in Marylebone, Westminster.

Despite never having played before, Ali has developed an infectious enthusiasm for cricket, supporting coaches & classmates alike.
