Once strongly associated with London's river trade, Bermondsey was bombed heavily during The Blitz, resulting in waves of post-war housing. While modern development and cultural influences from around the world are infusing the local area like most of central London, Bermondsey retains connections with its past through a core population of long-term residents.
Bermondsey Bees community cricket sessions are predominantly for children attending Boutcher, Grange, Riverside, St James', St Joseph's George Row and Tower Bridge Primary Schools.

This week's PLAYER OF THE WEEK Award goes to Mappiad from Stepney Park Primary School in Stepney, Tower Hamlets.
Mappiad has shown great knowledge and understanding of cricket, and has fantastic skills especially his power hitting. He has demonstrated maturity and leadership with his classmates.
