Deptford and New Cross are the most deprived and ethnically diverse areas of Lewisham. Deptford has a long association with shipbuilding and was an important part of London's working docks, but is now experiencing areas of significant redevelopment. New Cross is home to Goldsmith's University.

Deptford Dragons community cricket sessions are predominantly for children attending Ashmead, Childeric, Deptford Park, Edmund Waller, Grinling Gibbons, Haberdashers' Aske's Temple Grove, Invicta (Deptford), Kender, Lucas Vale, St James Hatcham, St Joseph's, St Stephen's, Sir Francis Drake and Tidemill Primary Schools.

WINTER:
Haberdashers' Aske's Hatcham College Sports Centre,
St Asaph Road, SE15 3DR.
SUMMER:
Deptford Park, Scawen Road, SE8 5AE.

Each week our coaches identify a PLAYER OF THE WEEK from the 4,000+ children we work with, as a recognition of their talent, efforts or improvement.
This week's PLAYER OF THE WEEK Award goes to Daniel from St John's Walham Green Primary School in Fulham, Hammersmith & Fulham.
Daniel was excellent in his sessions last half term, showing great coordination in developing his own skills, but always helping classmates with theirs too.
