The Isle of Dogs is characterised by extreme diversity. Dominated by Canary Wharf which, along with a sharp meander in the River Thames cuts the area off from neighbouring areas, there are luxury riverside developments and significant social housing. "The Island" as it is known locally, retains a population with roots in the East End alongside a noticeable Vietnamese presence and the Bangladeshi community which is by far Tower Hamlets' most prevalent ethnic minority.
Isle of Dogs Imps community cricket session are predominantly for children attending Arnhem Wharf, Canary Wharf College (Eastferry), Canary Wharf College (Glendale), Cubitt Town Jnr, Harbinger, St Edmund's, St Luke's and Seven Mills Primary Schools.
