Traditionally home to some of the largest estates of council housing in London, Kidbrooke was characterised by deprivation throughout the late 20th century. In recent times, the expansive Ferrier Estate was demolished to make way for the "Kidbrooke Village" development which significantly altered the area.
Kidbrooke Kings community cricket sessions are predominantly for children attending Ealdham, Haimo, Henwick, Holy Family, Kidbrooke Park, St Thomas More and Wingfield Primary Schools.
