Whitechapel is the heart of London's East End, synonymous with poverty, overcrowding and crime during the Victorian era. The area has also seen waves of immigration including French Huguenots, Irish, European Jews and most recently a thriving Bangladeshi community that is centred around Brick Lane. At Whitechapel's western extremity is the traditional "square mile" of the City of London which is dominated by companies in the finance and insurance sectors.
Whitechapel Wolves community cricket session are predominantly for children attending Canon Barnett, Christ Church, Kobi Nazrul, Osmani, St Anne's, Sir John Cass Primary, Stewart Headlam and Thomas Buxton Primary Schools.
